Der gestiefelte Kater hat bei einem Kampf gegen ein Monster erneut zu viel Übermut bewiesen. Seine neun Katzenleben sind fast aufgebraucht. Er will es nicht glauben, wird aber vom bösen Wolf schmerzhaft daran erinnert. Nun muss sich der stolze Rebell überlegen, was er tun soll. Zum Glück bekommt er Hilfe von Kitty Samtpfote und Perro.

Even a tomcat can have a rude awakening. After countless risky journeys and careless adventures, Puss in Boots is horrified to discover that his passion for danger has ultimately come at a price - in his thirst for adventure, he has already used up eight of his nine lives. To provide some much-needed new vitality, the charming whiskered cat embarks on a long journey to the Black Forest to find the mythical Wish Star. Unfortunately, with only one life left on the cat's account, this venture turns out to be unusually risky, so that not only serious restraint is called for, but also a little support in the form of the adorable as well as devious Kitty Velvet Paw and the good-humored chatty four-legged friend Perro. Together, the unusual trio must put boots on the ground to stay one step ahead of both Goldilocks and her three notorious gang bears and the nasty bounty hunter Big Bad Wolf.
